Best serving Businesses

The two businesses, that I think serve their customers best are Target and Costco. The reason I believe that they have superior service is they both sell superior products for low and discounted prices, and they highly value and spend the extra time in making sure employees are nice and helpful and provide excellent customer service to the customers. Also these two companies are top competitors in there areas of business and are doing fairly well in the stock market area, the last trade price for both Costco and Target where $63.10 for Target stocks and $57.47 for Costco stocks. So ultimately both businesses are stable and are doing fairly well. Also Target is superior in customer service because of their philosophies and values which are "Expect more of everything: More great design, more choices, more convenience, more service and more clothes, housewares and designer-created items that you’ll never find anywhere else. And pay less. It’s as simple as that." (Target), Target also is committed to helping the different communities in which we live in and making sure that there is diversity in their stores whether it be products our employees, so ultimately Target is superior in customer service and just all around service. Costco is also superior in there service because they also like to promote diversity and helpful service, they even go as far as to say customer satisfaction guaranteed, not many places give your money back or allow exchanges of all goods, Costco is one of the few that does this and so with that and their top customer service, Costco is also superior in service.

House approves business tax breaks

On Friday, the House approved of business tax breaks that are worth $1.8 billion, in hopes of forging a congressional compromise on the increasing minimum wage. The rise in minimum wage now depends on how and when the House and the Senate strike a compromise between their two tax packages. The Senate's tax package is worth $8.3 billion and is much bigger than the one passed by the House and would include extending tax credits and write-offs, as well as providing new tax preferences to some companies. The Senate's package would also eliminate tax shelters and provide new taxes on lawsuit settlements and deferred compensation packages for higher paid executives. If the House's tax package is selected, it would offer small businesses an extension in some tax write-offs that are going to expire, and it would allow them to continue to receive a tax credit for hiring disadvantaged workers. Also this bill would ensure that restaurants are not negatively impacted for deducting Social Security taxes on tips above the minimum wage. The House tax package would also increase the amount of money the government gained because it would ensure that wealthy taxpayers would not be able to shift income to their children and avoid paying higher taxes. I personally agree that if we raise minimum wage, which on the first place i don't know if I agree with raising the minimum raise, but I do believe that if we do raise it then we must give the businesses something to balance things out, otherwise, the price of items will go way out of proportion instead of just being a little higher then normal.

Will Gore end up running in the 2008 elections?

It has been rumored that former Vice President Al Gore would join the 2008 election race, however, Gore has released statements saying he will not run for the upcoming election. In spite of Gore saying he will not run for the Presidency, many of his supporters are urging him to run, and even his policy advisor and other advisers met Thursday to talk about a potential Gore campaign. Clearly Gore's supporters are trying to push him into the 2008 elections, without his consent. Gore's supporters did however mention that Gore who is in London at the moment did not have anything to do with the meeting on Thursday about the potential campaign and that as of right now, he is not planning to run. In fact Gore's spokeswoman Kalee Kreider released a statement saying that the only thing that Gore is working and concentrating on right now is global warming, in fact Al Gore's work on global warming has earned him a Nobel nomination, so currently it seems that the former Vice President has no interest in running in the up coming elections. Personally I think it is a good idea that Al Gore is not running in the election, because he already had a chance and now there needs to be a new face in the Democratic party, personally I believe it would be political suicide for the Democratic party to run a same canidate who has already tried to become President, then again it depends on who the Republicans run.
