Bill Richardson Prepares for 2008 Presidential election

On Friday several officials who know Bill Richardson's plans, said that the Governor Bill Richardson, who is the Governor of New Mexico, intends to run for President as a Democratic nomination for the 2008 elections. Richardson plans to announce on Sunday if he is going to file the paper work to run for office or not. Richardson in planning to run for the nomination, brings a great deal of experience with him, he has been a Congressman, a U.N. ambassador and the Energy Department secretary, Richardson brings experience in international affairs that has extended even into his governorship of a small but politically important state. He has held talks on North Korea's nuclear program in New Mexico and most recently traveled to Sudan to meet with the country's president to ask him for an end to the bloodshed in Darfur. If Richardson wins, he will be the nation's first Hispanic president, even though, the Governor brings alot of experience with him, it is estimated that if he does decide to run, he will be the underdog, because of the competition in the Democratic party, such as Huillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards. I personally believe that Richardson will be the underdog too, but I would hope that the Democrats would be smart and not run John Edwards, but instead replace him with this new canidate, because I believe that running a person who has lost in previous elections is just not smart, plus Richardson's background is pretty extensive and getting a fresh canidate in would be a wise move for the Democrats.

I think he has a chance once the big two start beating each other up.
